EBA Internet Newsletter – March 2008

Invitation Letter EBA Convention Vienna:The Austrian Bonsai Association (A-B-A) cordially invites you to participate in the EBA-ESA-Convention 2008 - one of the most important bonsai events in Europe, which will be taking place in Vienna from 25 - 27 April 2008. The convention is hosted in cooperation with the European Associations united in the EBA and the ESA as well.
The organizers of the EBA Convention 2008 in Vienna are engaged in the challenge of uniting modern technology with bonsai and nature.
Vienna forms an outstanding and worldwide popular venue with its modern flair and its culture, its splendourful buildings from the age of the Habsburgers, the great world-famous museums, picture galleries and buildings of art nouveau, its cosy restaurants and cafes and its hospitality. Vienna is also an industrial centre with many leading enterprises of modern technology. It is located in the middle of Europe and can be easily reached by train, airplane or car or bus.
At the convention the participants await an outstanding presentation of European and Austrian bonsai and suiseki. The Ikenobo-Ikebana Studio group Austria will show some of its beautiful exhibits. International and national bonsai experts will demonstrate their bonsai expertise on selected raw material. In addition lectures with interesting topics on bonsai and suiseki will be held.
A nice social programme supplements the convention.
You will find in this "Newsletter" a link to the programme of the Convention with a detailed timetable and the registration form.
The organizers are asking the EBA Members to promote the event within their national bonsai scene and to bring some excellent contributions for the exhibitions. There will be separate national sections within the exhibition and one Tokonoma provided per member. For the neighbouring countries of Austria and the different Austrian clubs an extra part of the exhibition (Danube-Alps-Adriatic) will be set up.
As president of the Austrian Bonsai Association, I am looking forward with the Austrian team to seeing many European bonsai friends in Vienna at the EBA-ESA Convention in April. For further information see the homepages www.ebabonsai.org , www.bonsai-austria.at and www.vienna.info .
